Small Groups Home
July 10, 2008
In our busy lives we often discover that we don’t have many friendships that go beyond the surface of the everyday. The rush of life can rob us of the Christian fellowship that God has created us to enjoy.
Small Groups meet in homes on a regular, scheduled basis for Bible study, prayer, and fellowship. These groups are more than just a place to learn information about God. They are a place where we can be real with each other as we apply God’s Word to our lives.
Whether you’re new to Faith Baptist or you’ve been attending for years, small groups are a great place to get to know new people and form meaningful relationships in a relaxed environment.
We hope you’ll take the time to join a group and experience the spiritual growth and encouragement that can be nurtured in a small, safe, and familiar Christian community.

Troubleshooting Email Prayer Chain Problems
Faith’s Prayer Chain is an instrumental tool supporting the community and ministries of Faith Baptist Church.
The Prayer Chain is powered by a third-party web-based tool called Constant Contact. The emails are typically what is called HTML emails. Essentially, the email you receive takes on the appearance of a website that you receive in your email inbox.
Depending on the email software you use (Outlook, Hotmail, Outlook Express, Mail, etc), your internet service provider (eg. Vianet, Surenet, Muskoka.com, Bell Sympatico, etc), your internet connection speed (ie cable vs dialup), you may face difficulties in relating to receiving the Prayer Chain Emails.
Please look below for some common problems and solutions to try.
The emails take too long to load, they are bogging down my email inbox.
I’m not receiving any emails from the Prayer Chain
The emails arrive, but the images are not loading properly
I’m receiving my emails fine, but I need to change my email address
If your emails are taking a long time to load than you are likely on a dial-up connection to the internet. There are 2 options for you. First, you can arrange for higher speed internet connection. Second, you can login to the Prayer Chain admin area and choose to receive text-only versions of the emails. Text uses up very little memory and as such will load as quickly as your normal non-html emails.
If you’re not receiving any emails from the Prayer Chain then the first step is to make sure that you are actually on the Prayer Chain list and that the correct email is on that list. If you confirm that you are on the list and you are still not receiving any emails then there are 2 likely causes. First, check your email browser’s junk folder to make sure that the software isn’t sorting the emails from Constant Contact as junk mail. If you see Prayer Chain emails in the junk folder than change your software preferences so that emails sent from prayer@faithhuntsville.ca are not sorted as junk mail. If you don’t find any Prayer Chain emails in the junk folder, than your internet service provider (ISP) may be blocking the emails under the assumption that they are spam (unsolicited emails). Because the Prayer Chain emails are sent out to over 120 addresses, the email can appear as spam to the ISP. At this point you need to contact your ISP by phone or email. A sample email for sending to your ISP tech support email address can be found by clicking here . If after calling and sending the email you still do not get the emails, please contact the Prayer Chain coordinator at prayer@faithhuntsville.ca and they will contact Constant Contact who will then contact your ISP and make the proper arrangments.
If you receive the emails but the images are not loading properly , please check to see if your email software’s preferences are set not to download images until instructed. If so, you can change the preferences so that the images download right when the email is first downloaded/viewed. Blocking image downloading is a way to increase the speed at which an email is delivered to your inbox.
Any time that you need to change any of your personal information on the Prayer Chain (last name, addresses, email addresses etc) you can login to the Prayer Chain Administration website and make the changes yourself. If you run into difficulty doing that, you can also email any changes to the Prayer Chain Coordinator at prayer@faithhuntsville.ca .
