About Faith
Faith Baptist is a church made up of people who are trying to serve God, in the strength of the Holy Spirit, to the best of their ability . We are not perfect but we do take our faith very seriously. In an age of change, and sometimes confusion, we have discovered the never changing Word of God to be a source of comfort and stability . For that reason you will find each of our programs based upon what we believe the Bible to teach.
We are associated with the Fellowship of Evangelical Baptist Churches of Canada. We are an autonomous congregation and are responsible for our own programs as well as budgets. Through the years God has been faithful to provide all of our needs which we give Him all the glory for.
Faith Baptist Church began in 1953 as a small group meeting together in their homes. As the work grew, it was possible to move to a small building on West Street. As the congregation increased, the need became apparent for larger facilities which eventually led to the purchase of our present site on West Road. The move to the new building was made in 1977.
One building expansion was completed in 1985 and with growth foreseen we purchased land to accommodate our needs. In July 1996 we started another building adjoining our present one which includes a multi-purpose room, additional nurseries, washrooms and a new kitchen. On June 29, 1997 we moved into this new facility.
In early 2007, interior renovations were begun as part of the most recent expansion plans. Warmer weather will bring the construction of a second storey above the current church foyer. This expansion will bring much needed additional classrooms for our burgeoning Children Ministry.
